This project was funded by a USDA-NRCS Comprehensive Innovation Grant (CIG). The goal of the project was to determine if a feed management program could be developed for horse farms that would be easy and straightforward to implement and that could be expected to yield consistent results in terms of improved and environmental quality.

The goals of this seminar are to:

  • Present a rationale for feed management programs and improving environmental quality
  • Describe the New Jersey CIG project
  • Make recommendations based on the New Jersey project
  • Describe feed management programs in other states and with other species
  • Discuss how a feed management (USDA-NRCS 592) program could be developed for horses, and if so, how should it be structured and administered
