Additional Information:

Why would one love ornamental grasses? Let me count the ways. With graceful motion, interesting textures, and striking colors, their dramatic appeal is obvious. Whether you have short, mounded tufts or tall, swaying seedheads, ornamental grasses can add a lovely array of colors for striking beauty throughout all four seasons of the year. Plus, they are easy to grow! They are not too fussy about soil or light requirements and are deer resistant.

In this course, instructor Bruce Crawford will cover the elements (line, form, mass, color, texture) and principles of landscape design (simplicity, scale, sequence, balance, focalization). He will also talk about choosing appropriate species for the NJ garden, combining ornamental grasses with other perennials and woody plants, and maintenance best practices.

Target Audience: Alumni,  General Public
