Additional Information: The Barnes Foundation holds the collection of Dr. Albert Barnes who, between 1912 and 1951, assembled one of the finest collections of impressionist, post-impressionist, and early modern paintings in the world. Artists in his collection include Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Chaim Soutine, and Vincent van Gogh. The Rodin Museum, which opened in 1929, houses one of the largest collections by the French sculptor. It is home to some of the artist’s greatest works including, the Thinker and the Gates of Hell.
