Additional Information: The Zimmerli’s first crowdsourced exhibition that celebrates the university’s milestone anniversary is not about compiling the past. The project was devised to capture the global Rutgers community in 2015 and 2016. The microsite herenow250.rutgers.edu launched last November to coincide with the kickoff of Rutgers 250, when individuals were invited to begin uploading their photos to the virtual gallery. In January, the Zimmerli transformed the images into a museum exhibition, printing photographs as they are received and hanging them on the walls of the Voorhees Gallery. Now, staff is planning for the culmination of the project. All photos submitted by May 15 will be reviewed by a panel of art professionals, who will select 250 of the most compelling to be included in a full-color fine art book that will be available prior to Charter Day, November 10, 2016.
