Weekend Course for Au Pairs: The Geography and History of New York City

Synopsis: The course will open with a discussion of the way geography and natural history led to the European settlement of Manhattan. Follow-up speakers, using maps, photos, other other visual aids, will address the cultural, economic, and political history that led to the "Big Apple" as we know it today.

This program will give attendees three of the six educational credits required under the J-1 visa. Au pairs (commonly misspelled as au pere or au pear) are required to earn educational credits under the J-1 visa.
