Additional Information: In 1992, a committee composed by students, faculty and staff recommended the establishment of a center to serve the needs of Latinx students at Rutgers. Thus, CLAC was born! Featuring the globe-trotting, Grammy award winning salsero trombonist and Rutgers alumn Jimmy Bosch and his Other World Sextet, the program will recognize businessman Carlos Hendricks (Livingston College 82), award winning writer, educator and activist Nancy Mercado (Rutgers College 82), community organizer and Lazos America Unida founder and director Teresa Vivar, and Rutgers professor and chair of Latino and Caribbean Studies Carlos Decena.
