Synopsis: Zeranol (Zer) is a semi-synthetic myco-estrogen used in livestock to enhance meat production. Studies indicate that exposure of prepubescent girls via the consumption of beef and popcorn is associated with changes in puberty, and with sexual development and carcinogenesis.
