IGFBP-3 mediates the ability of ribotoxins to induce intrinsic apoptosis in mammary epithelial cells. The goal of this work was to delineate the underlying mechanisms for this effect with emphasis on the Bcl-2 family of proteins and the pro-survival NF-kB signaling pathway.
